• Meet in St.Johns, Newfoundland, Canada

• Maximum Group Size: 5 People (Only 3 Spots Remaining)

• Instructor/Guide: Travis Layton (Trav in the Bush)

Embark on an unforgettable Puffin and Northern Gannet Photography Workshop, set against Newfoundland’s dramatic coastal cliffs, where thousands of Atlantic Puffins and Northern Gannets return each spring. This immersive experience is timed with the peak season for Puffins and Gannets, offering ideal opportunities to capture these incredible seabirds in their natural habitat.

Our small group size ensures personalized attention, allowing you to refine your skills and capture the essence of these charismatic seabirds. Beyond Northern Gannets, the surrounding area offers additional wildlife and scenic wonders, providing ample opportunities to explore and photograph the natural beauty of Newfoundland

If you are interested in signing up, please submit a message using the message box below and Trav will get back to you shortly.

  • Accommodation: Comfortable lodging close to our photography sites.

Transportation: Includes pickup from an airport hotel in St. John, all locations throughout the workshop, and drop-off at an airport hotel in St.John.

Expert Instruction: Personalized guidance to help you capture remarkable shots.

Boat Tour: We will be going out on a boat tour during the trip. The trip will allow us to experience the sea birds of Newfoundland from a different perspective. This way we will be able to get shots on land and at sea!

  • Meals: Meals are not included, but all accommodations provide kitchen access. We’ll make grocery store stops and visit local restaurants throughout the trip.

Flights: Flights to and from Newfoundland are not included. (NOTE: I strongly recommend not booking a flight home on June 3rd. Instead, schedule your departure for the following day or later. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us returning by the 3rd.)

Puffin Viewing Expectations: It’s important to know that while we’ll be visiting known puffin viewing locations, the puffins may be further away than some images online might suggest. While we may get closer views, I can’t guarantee proximity. If close-up puffin shots are your primary goal, this may not be the best tour for you.

    • Telephoto lens: no shorter than 600mm for in flight shots and Puffins. A shorter prime or fast zoom lens (70-200mm) for close up portraits

    • Camera cleaning kit (lens wipes, microfibre cloth, etc.)
